For high-density, multiple-product storage situations, you can't beat a push-back rack system. It's designed to optimize the use of your storage area while still combining excellent selectivity and a maintenance-free design.
As each pallet is loaded, it's placed on a free-rolling carriage that is literally pushed back into the system by loading additional pallets. When unloading, gravity moves the pallets forward to the aisle on the telescoping carriages, eliminating the need for reaching or driving into the rack. Everything can be accessed from a single aisle in a first-in/last-out arrangement, minimizing space requirements and maximizing the number of picking faces. Push-back systems are available in two-, three-, four-, five-, or six-deep pallet configurations.
If your warehouse is equipped with a drive-in pallet rack system, you know how convenient it is to be able to store pallets in lanes up to six positions deep on the rack. It saves space in your storage area and renders most of your products easily accessible. However, by investing in a push-back pallet rack system by Interlake or Excel (USP), you can increase accessibility while maintaining the high-density storage that makes drive-in rack such an attractive option. With push-back pallet rack, every lane can be accessed or filled at any time without affecting adjacent loads. Designed to streamline the storage and retrieval process in warehouses and distribution centers that experience high throughput turnover, push-back pallet rack systems provide multiple pick faces while demanding fewer aisles. Push-back rack combines similar high-density storage to drive-in pallet rack with an accessibility that is unparalleled, ensuring that all lanes are accessible while advancing storage area optimization.
As each pallet is loaded onto an Interlake or Excel push-back system, it is placed on a free-rolling carriage that is literally pushed back into the system by loading additional pallets. When unloading, gravity moves the pallets forward to the aisle on telescoping carriages, eliminating the need to reach or drive into the rack. Pallets are fed and retrieved from one aisle, making push-back pallet rack ideal for applications that require a large number of picking faces. When the carriages are not in use, they nest neatly inside one another to stay out of your way until you need them. All pallets can be accessed from a single aisle in a first-in/last-out (FILO) arrangement, minimizing space requirements and maximizing the number of picking faces. (However, if you choose to rotate your stock on a first-in/first-out [FIFO] basis, an Interlake or Excel pallet flow system makes this also easy to accomplish.) Push-back pallet rack also reduces picking times and increases throughput in high density storage and retrieval situations involving multiple SKUs.
Interlake and Excel (USP) manufacture uprights that serve as the ideal framework for push-back systems. 3" structural channel tracks offer a sturdy foundation for the push-back system; they also decrease the likelihood of runaway carts. The structural cart construction and maintenance-free design of Interlake and Excel's rack systems maintains cleanliness as well. Each pallet cart has a capacity of 3,000 lbs. and can accommodate standard pallet widths of 40", 42", and 48" and a standard pallet length of 48" (as well as other options if need demands). Finally, the push-back pallet rack system is finished with an electrostatically-applied, powder-coated paint for durability and corrosion-resistance.
Push-back systems are available in two-, three-, four-, five-, or six-deep pallet configurations. A wide variety of options, including 14 ga. formed steel cart covers, additional cross ties, track bumpers, and a skid-resistant track surface assures a system that can be optimally designed for your unique application. DAK Equipment is proud to provide the best in push-back pallet rack system technology: carriages, tracks, and upright frames manufactured by Interlake and Excel (USP).
